Die Software ist ganz okay, aber für den deutschen Markt nicht geeignet.
Vorteile
Ich habe Clio getestet. Clio Grow darf man nur testen, wenn man vorher ein Test Abonnement kostenpflichtig abschließt. Es hat mir nicht zugesagt. Es ist praktisch unmöglich, das Produkt zu kündigen. Die buchen einfach weiter von der Kreditkarte ab, also Vorsicht! Das ist eine Falle.
Nachteile
Betrügerische Abo Abzug Falle. Es gibt keine Möglichkeit, dass einmal abgeschlossene Abonnement zu kündigen. Faxnummer ist nicht angegeben. Meine E-Mails wurden zwar bestätigt, trotzdem wird weiter abgebucht.

Game Changer for Our Practice
Transitioning to Clio has been a game-changer for our practice. With working out of office frequently their cloud based platform allows me to access everything I need from anywhere, which is incredibly convenient. Customer support was top notch when we called in, short wait and easy resolution. While I did experience a slight learning curve initially, the benefits far outweigh any minor hiccups. Overall and after trying out other platforms, we're going with Clio there's just no comparison!

I was really impressed with how Clio simplifies everything. I was searching for a replacement for my previous legal management software and came accross Clio and thought we'd give it a try. It's truly a breath of fresh air compared to what we're used to. The ability to automate client intake and manage cases has made our work much more efficient. Also the integrations with other tools we already use made it so it wasn't like starting from scratch.
Nachteile
The mobile app seems to have limitations compared to the desktop version, which can be frustrating when traveling and accessing information on the go. I called into support and they were able to help me with what I needed though away from main workstation, and hear that the app is being improved currently.

We Love Clio's Versatility
For our dozen or so users, we work seamlessly and can find the right case detail whenever needed. Clio Support has always helped to find a solution.
Vorteile
Clio gives us flexibility to handle various case types while maintaining consistent practices throughout the firm. Clio has a high degree of customization, and we use several integrations to achieve our client goals. We now use Clio Duo to track down missing details and information. We also have scheduled weekly reports automatically pop into our inbox.
Nachteile
I would love to see an internal tool to track automatically all client related work in Clio and other apps. We now use an integrated app for that, but it has some limitations.

They believe they are too big to fail....
When building out my initial matters (inputting my offline book of business), I made a typographical error. I deleted the matter and started over. That set off an entire comedy of errors.
As with many case management software programs, Clio uses CLIENT numbers and MATTER numbers. The latter can be revised or overridden once entered by the user, but the former cannot. So, when I deleted the matter to start it over, I was able to revive the matter number, but the system automatically progressed to the next client number. The former client number disappeared into the ether. In the aggregate, this means multiple and inexplicable gaps in client numbers. I spent hours with Support both via chat and telephone, and apparently there is absolutely nothing that can be done--even by the highest powers that be at Clio--to right the client numbers and remove the obnoxious gaps. I proposed resetting the system to give a clean slate. That, too, is apparently beyond the technical capacity of the software developers and engineers at Clio. Thus you are apparently left stuck with your input errors in perpetuity.
In short, the above is somewhat anecdotal, but goes to show that rather simple issues that arise (such as fixing a client number) are either too much for Clio to handle, or too piddly for them to care enough about to fix. If the former, that leads me to believe that the initial software design was itself outsourced and now static (cannot be easily changed in-house). If the latter, that leads me to conclude that Clio believes it is too big to fail that it can blow off its customers.
Vorteile
Clio is always innovating, but they do not hesitate to pass along the cost for such innovation to the customer. There is a whole suite of "add-ons" to choose from. But it feels like nickel-and-diming users for features and enhancements. Imagine if Google or Microsoft charged a fee every time there was a software update. That is how it seems to work at Clio. Don't believe the advertised price. If you want a fully-functional practice management platform (i.e., Clio Manage + Clio Grow), the price is going to be closer to $200 per month. That does not include Drafting and Duo (AI).
Nachteile
The machines are in control at Clio, not the humans. Certain functions, once entered and/or executed by the user, cannot be undone--even by the software developers and engineers. So you have to be triply trepidatious when entering data. If you get something wrong, your whole organizational scheme can fall into chaos.
Support is outsourced, largely to India. When you call in, you get that call-center vibe, including and especially the "I'm sorry, sir, but..." mantra (the "I'm sorry routine"). They will not go the extra mile to problem-solve and come up with creative solutions to fix what is a very common issue.
Clio is a captive sales scheme. They want you to invest time and money in a closed subscription-model ecosystem that, over time, will get more and more expensive--yet commensurately more difficult to disinvest from given all the time it takes to build your processes and workflows that will not be cross-compatible to other platforms. The lifetime investment in Clio will be huge.
The company is based in Canada. They have no offices in the United States.

Clio is a Must!
I use it for everything. My phone call notes and client meetings. I print my notes for files to help staff know what I know. We only use Clio for task and case upkeep so all the information and status is in one place.

Nachteile
I would like to have more options for my calendar (more like a daytimer feel) with a calendar view that supports tasks management and notes.

Intuitive, but needs better project management.
Have been using Clio for 5 years. Overall happy but wish there were better project management features. I have also had the hardest time with certain integrations on Mac.

Connecting All the Dots
Overall, I love Clio. I love the integrations that are continuously added!!

It connects in such a myriad of ways that I can find connections I did not even realize existed between clients and people on other cases. When you're in a small community, that is very helpful!!
Nachteile
Adding time to a calendar event or anything should be part of the initial pop-up, like it used to be.
I would like to be able to email things to the maildrop address from anyone within my domain.
And I would like to be able to e-file from my Clio profile EVEN IF my service email address is NOT my profile email address.

Great Legal Program
great! It has really saved me a lot of time when it comes to communicating with my clients and providing them copies of their records.

So, so much more than a case management system. Give them your money, already.
Clio offered me guidance when I first set up my firm, and they continue to offer support and innovation as my practice becomes larger. Their blog offers constructive suggestions. I couldn't be happier.
Vorteile
This platform is extremely easy to learn and to use--I mean, none of us went to law school to work as IT experts, right?! Clio is constantly innovating and the company is open to suggestions from users. The customer service is second to none with fast, fast, fast! responses. They are also extremely communicative about any issues that may offer challenges to their customers.

Simplifies many aspects of legal billing, yet lacks easy to use features
Good except that there are many simple features that it lacks that are easily fixable. Toggling from activity to activity without having to close and open another entry is something I raised about two years ago.

It does not allow you to navigate from activity to activity in the entry window without exiting the window, and then clicking on the next one. Takes up extra time and wastes time. Also, when a payment has been applied to a bill, the bill still shows the outstanding amount on the first page as the original total. Should update.

I love Clio, it makes my working experience more enjoyable.

Lots of great add-ons - AND the basics are done well
We onboarded with Clio back in 2014 and we haven't looked back! Sure there were some growing pains, we have seen it grow and strengthen in its offerings over the years, but the immediate tech support available to our staff has been a constant from the very beginning. Now, after so many years and having to pull reports and data on (very) old time-entries and past users, we realize what a smart investment this was. Clio's record-keeping is exact, intact, and reliable.
Vorteile
Robust platform that integrates time-keeping, billing, write-offs, and lawyer productivity seamlessly. Conflict checking. Competent, authorized human customer service is truly just a phone call away - no difficult menus and queuing music.
Nachteile
Document filing/storage area by matter is a bit clunky, as is the Clio-generated Client email - though it is conceptually a great idea it doesn't work smoothly in practice.

Do yourself a favor: sign up with Clio! You will not regret it.
We are never going back to other platforms. Other "attorney centric" solutions for document management, client relationship management, timekeeping and billing are LESS intuitive and MORE expensive.
Vorteile
Clio is intuitive and provides excellent document management, client relationship management, timekeeping and billing all in one platform for a reasonable price with no long term commitments.
Nachteile
On occasion Clio will have glitches - connectivity issues. When that happens, we're at a standstill. Fortunately, it doesn't occur often, and when it does it is short lived.

I love the benefits for Clio and how it is always improving

I love how customizable this program is. I can create my own fields and documents. I love the organization options. I love how we can template our own information to create a matter. It's a very useful tool. I also love the clio portal and the ability to text our clients.
Nachteile
The only issue I have with clio is the email attachments need to be saved to the file it's self, unless you save the entire email. It will be routed to an attachments file and that can be difficult to find if you have many files.

Clio is a great tool
Overall Clio is a good tool that helps to keep you focused on earnings. It does glitch from time to time but my experience is that most legal software does that. I appreciate the fact that Clio seems to be constantly improving and they are open to user feedback. The support is also excellent.

I like the interface and I like that Clio focuses on profitability and showing you your earnings. I love the ease of billing and the preset feature for reports.
Nachteile
Clio tends to have latency issues. I would also like it if Clio would automatically add time entries for completed tasks with estimated times on them.

Clio Review from AWL
The platforms, both Manage and Grow, are user friendly and I have had a great experience with the software. I like that there aren't rollout after rollout of changes. I enjoy updates and accept them but I like that it's not a weekly occurrence (like Quickbooks). I have recommended Clio to others and will continue to use Clio.

Overall Clio is very user friendly. My clients who have commented on the use of Clio have had positive feedback as well. I like that there are training videos and customer service has been great the few times I've called. The integration with my Google Workspace and now having their own credit card processing fees is great too! This year I'm utilizing the Dashboard more, both on Manage and Grow and I do like how it works. It helps me stay productive.
Nachteile
For sections I haven't used as much, I have difficulty finding my way back to them after stumbling upon them. I would like to be able to attach receipts for reimbursable expenses to client's invoices. I would like to be able to mark client matters and/or client invoices as mail only so I know when to print the invoices and mail them to clients.

A fantastic legal ops product!
I've had a great run with Clio. It's packed with features that make my legal work a lot smoother, especially with all the docketing and billing. Plus, their support team is very helpful. It's been a game changer for the firm!

Great Comprehensive CRM Platform Geared towards Legal Work
Overally, I've been using it for a few years now with my own firm. I used it at a few previous firms and I don't ever really see myself changing.

I like that it is a comprehensive CRM system that is geared towards legal. I can invoice with it, add new clients, retain documents, generate documents, you name it.

I think some features could be a little more user-friendly, but I think they are constantly working on that. It takes time to get all the bugs out of any technology.

Best legal software I have ever used!
I have had nothing but great experiences with Clio
Vorteile
i like that I am able to streamline the intake process in Clio Grow and then pass the baton to my colleagues seamlessly in Clio Manage and Clio Draft
Nachteile
There are still some things that need improvement, but i love that the support team is always so helpful and try to find workarounds for me, and then they take our suggestions seriously and send those to their design team to try to figure out how to put those suggestions in action.

Highly Recommend!

I'm a Clio Lover
It is the lifeblood of my practice. ClioCon and the community of users is unrivaled in the legal industry as a source of information and forward thinking.
Vorteile
I love having everything in one place - not a bunch of extra integrations or connecting apps needed. I also love that Clio is constantly making improvements and listens to its users.
Nachteile
The need to sync back and forth between Grow and Manage and the appt booking does not constistently stay up to date with my calendar.

Clio was the best investment I made in the early days of my law firm
My overall experience has been great. I was in an incubator program with other attorneys starting their own practice and, because I have Clio, I didn't have the struggles with tracking and billing that my peers had. I am glad I started using Clio when I only had a few clients because I have been able to learn as my firm has gown.
Vorteile
Clio makes it so easy to track of all the things that are important to me: potential clients, active clients, attorney time, billing, firm financial goals, etc. Even when my solo practice was just a side-hustle, Clio Manage more than paid for itself in time-savings and ease of use. Clio customer service has been excellent - the live help is really easily accessible for setup and problem-solving; the online articles and videos are great for on-demand help.
Nachteile
There is a lot of functionality in Clio that I don't use yet - there is so much that I could be doing with it, but it is hard to make time for the next new thing when I am also running a law firm. There are some add-ons that are marketed as having connectivity to/ compatibility with Clio that are redundant and don't make sense for my practice: for, example, QuickBooks will talk to Clio but the billing and tracking were redundant with what was already happening in Clio (I already billed through clio and I didn't need to do it through QB; and I can categorize spending through my actual bank accounts, so I didn't need it to do that, either). The only thing QB did that Clio didn't *already do* was deal with (part of) payroll for my one assistant (then I found out QB was incorrectly calculating my state worker comp amounts and I dumped QB and got a bookkeeper to help with my employee needs).

Worlds better than other CRMS and still improving
Clio is a great information hub, but getting the information sorted and in the right place can be tedious. The busier the firm, the greater the need is to have an outlined guide or manual from day one.
Vorteile
Clio is a fantastic information-gathering tool and is close to being a one-stop-shop for everything we need pertaining to our clients. the upcoming rollout of a new communications tab should help to sort this information further.
Nachteile
Client intake is a tedious process. Something as simple as being about to mark clients as spouses/life partners and copying over address and other basic information would go a long way to help speed things up. as of now, we make three contacts for every matter (the married couple as well as each spouse).

Very Happy
My overall experience has been very positive. Compared to our last platform Clio is much more user friendly. Our attorneys have little to no problem using the system. The customer service has been quick and helpful. I think as Clio continues to develop the better it will be.

Nachteile
Not being able to mark invoices as sent via USPS. Not all of our clients use email. Not being able to pay multiple invoices via the matter, and having to navigate to the billing page. On the billing page, not being able to search via the client/matter number. Only can search by name. Not being able to search clients by balance when someone other than the client pays the invoice with no identifiable reference. Less third party crossovers would be nice as well. I would like to see a more developed Clio for clients desktop app/website/portal. I think our clients would really utilize communicating with the attorney more through a portal then an app on the phone.

Get It. It's Literally A Lifesaver.
Great! The people and the organization are great, and they're constantly giving as a company. They give you resources on accounting, technology, business building, client management, time management, everything you can think of to run a business as an attorney. There are SO many things you can do with Clio, I'm just scratching the surface. And they're still improving and adding more things on! It really is the best thing in the world for what you're paying. I 110% recommend Clio to any attorney in the world; it's the best thing since sliced bread, and it's truly a lifesaver.
Vorteile
Easy to Use, Does literally everything I can want as an attorney. Great use of technology to streamline my practice and make normal tasks take seconds (drafting, reminding clients of court dates, etc). Very quick response time from their tech support, and most of the people are very nice and courteous even if they can't help you with what you want. The fact that they continuously update, make changes, and add features that we either wanted or didn't know we wanted until now, especially for such a low monthly price.

The aesthetics of some of the features. Some of the features don't work as well as I want or there are little glitches on my computer (windows that pop up saying things I don't quite understand as a lay person haha), but these can likely be solved by talking to tech support. Some of the tech support people aren't that helpful, or will refer you to call their hotline so they can set up a Zoom call so you can share your screen and they can see the problem, which takes a whole lot longer than I would like. But generally they do solve the problem pretty easily.

Great Product and even better customer support
Overall, Clio has been great. Customer support has been amazing and quick to respond and provide assistance in resolutions.
Vorteile
Clio has been great to track billable time and expenses, and sharing documents (including LARGE attachments like videos.). Calendaring is great as you can link the event to a matter and invite users, including clients and other parties. Setting reminders is also great to help you take on task and meet your deadlines. Customer support is very responsive, and helpful. Clio Grow has also been great to use, wish the editing of the documents and forms was more user friendly--it has already gotten better since we started using Clio (there is now the ability to add a table!)
Nachteile
There have been bugs that have taken some time to correct. Timer issues (starting and stopping, you need to really pay attention that it is properly recorded this); additionally, the Clio calendar becomes un-synced with out Outlook calendar(s) and that is a huge issue (currently) as we have to double record.

Game Changer
It's amazing how after you realize all that you can do, your eyes widen and the time saving features become apparent. I am now proud to offer my clients services that other firms in my area are not offering.
Vorteile
Completely changes how I handle matters and communicate with clients and staff. One central location for all things "client". I like that Clio is big enough for developers to want to work with Clio and there are hundreds of integrations that can be used with Clio. The customer support is always right there when needed, helpful and instructive. The knowledge "library" is vast and always helpful.
Nachteile
My only complaint about Clio is even though the onboarding training was extensive and helpful, this was such a big change for me and my firm we literally had to rethink our "workflows". I wish there was available from Clio a service that we could hire to sort of guide us and tell us what changes we should be making to get ready for Clio. I did end up speaking with a consultant and it will be fine I just wish at the beginning of the process Clio offered this service (maybe they do and I missed it).

Clio is a key part of our firm and helps us achieve more! Highly recommended.
I know that by using Clio, they will constantly be improving and that I will always get the customer service when I need it. Relying on Clio for over 13 years, I feel my files are organized, my communications are streamlined, and I know I'm giving better service to my clients because of Clio.
Vorteile
Clio is a great foundation for our firm. I am a long time Clio user, over 13 years now. I have seen it grow and improve. Some things have stayed the same - excellent customer service, minimal to no downtime. It replaces at least one full time employee with the automated reminders, calendaring, etc. Not only do I organize my digital client files in Clio, I track all my payments and trust accounting, I am able to have team member accountability through task tracking, we have regular and effective communication with the clients through the Clio Client portal. When I'm using Clio, it helps me be a better lawyer, it helps me focus more on my clients, and keep my clients happy through great communication.
Nachteile
While it has all the basic features in a package to choose from, there are parts you have to pay to add on. Clio Grow for intaking new clients, meshes great with Clio Manage but it does have an extra cost. The document template feature that is built in is okay, and the add-on Clio Draft is supposed to be a lot better but it's at additional cost and a bit difficult for me to intuitively figure out. It's costly to have Clio, but it does save having an extra employee and saves from missing a deadline and having client's complain due to lack of communication, so to me it's worth the cost.

Hop on the Clio train, it's going places!
I almost switched services this year but Clio's offerings have simply exploded into a massively functional and efficient management software

I love the expansive growth coming down the pipeline. I started with simple document automations with Manage and Clio continues to acquire new features to aid in running my firm and continues to refine those features. Along with the 200+ integrations, Clio dominates the market for a reason

Stonewalled by tech support.
It can be slow in spite of our high-speed Internet, they changed the names of their pricing levels and then pushed his into a low pricing level so they don't have to provide us with certain product upgrades (the old switcheroo!), and tech-support stonewalls us.
Vorteile
It's one of the more widely used software so if you're hiring new legal staff, they might have had some exposure to it. At times they can be responsive to requests make helpful changes to the product but mostly, you get stonewalled.
Nachteile
Well, there are several things. We have to pay for an extra license for our bookkeeper to use the product and other software companies don't do that -it's a hidden cost. Necessary product upgrades take long with Clio and some functionality is lacking For example, Clio was far behind the competition to include an effective client portal (they started with one that was not user-friendly at all) and although they are making improvements with it, it's still is not up to par and its functionality compared to other case management software systems.
We paid extra for use of their CRM called Clio Grow and its a primitive software compared to Salesforce, Hubs, monday sale CRM, pipedrive, etc. It lacks functionality like texting your potential clients. It only partially integrates with the case management portion of Clio. Worst of all, after setting up a document template in Clio Grow for client intake with our office (30 people), Clio restricted some of the functionality of that document making it even more awkward, to the point where it's unusable for us. It would've been simple to fix it and change the functionality back to the way it was just a few days ago but, I got stonewalled. No one's responding.

Clio: Great for what you need
Clio is a great, basic legal site that provides most of what you need. Very easy to use, the scheduling features are top-notch, and they have the best customer service I've ever seen. Only downsides is that it's very basic and does provide a full amount of features, despite the constant updates.

Switching from PC Law to Clio
Our experience with Clio has been excellent. Their entire team is responsive, they outsourced the data transfer to some excellent referrals also making the transition easier than anticipated

Efficient and easy

Fallen far from grace
Awful. They look great at first glance given the supposed breadth of features they have, but when they start removing features without notice or you experience any problem with their software at all, it is all but guaranteed that they will be completely unable to assist and you will be left paying full price for a program that, at best, half works.
Vorteile
Clio used to have responsive and helpful customer support, but that was years ago! It was once easy to track and link payments to client matters, run useful reports, and handle cloud-based documents, but recently the software has seen nothing but bugs.
Nachteile
Clio is plagued with bugs and its cloud-based document system stops working entirely every few weeks or so, requiring a complete reinstallation of the desktop launcher. Clio also, without any notice at all, removed certain features that allowed for the linking of card payments from Clio Scheduler (a sister program), retroactively recharacterizing ALL prior card payments in a completely different manner and ruining my firm's entire accounting system overnight. Clio tech support is worthless and is never aware of any issues brought up to them about the software, no matter how debilitating the issue may be, and they endlessly put you on hold to "talk ton their team" while stalling and asking for more screenshots of the issue, only to tell you a week later that they can't help you. The software has fallen far from grace and serves only to be a very expensive patchwork of buggy integrations, paired with tech support that doesn't understand any of the details of their own program.
