My experience with this software was excellent. I had used a basic Sage Accounting software for years and before Sage bought this particular accounting software, it was Peachtree. I loved it.
Reporting is excellent. User friendly. Ease of teaching employees. online forums are spot on for good information. Immediate help via chat or calling with more difficult issues. I love that they can help by driving my computer when I could not figure out an issue. They take fixes seriously for the next update.
Very professional looking invoicing and reporting and very easy to get exactly what you need without a bunch of drop downs and reconfiguring of the crystal reports.
There is actually nothing I dislike about this software. It is by far my favorite accounting software.

Overall this is a great program for payroll; coworkers have expressed it's simplicity in the A/R and A/P fields as well.
I use this payroll for 2 companies to process payroll for construction. The employee setup module is very straight forward and gives you may options for customized tracking (for PTO/Sick time). Daily entry for payroll is easy, the payroll and posting processes work well and the available certified payroll reports are clear and concise.
This software does not export well to excel; so if you use Excel to process data/create custom reports/run pivot tables, there is a lot of clean up involved before you can make the data Sage exports clean enough to use.

As the systems administrator I like the flexibility of the product. The report writer isn't the most friendly, but it definitely gives a lot of flexibility in creating any reports you need. Sage updates the product regularly, and over the last few years has added many useful features. Soon they will be migrating to a new database format as well.
I very much dislike that when help is needed with creating a custom report, you get referred to your reseller. Then they just want to up-sell you on everything and never really deliver on the promises.
The accounting portion of this software is very strong. Scheduling not so much. There are many useful add-ons from Sage, that enhance the software, but cost more money. However, overall, this is a great software for General Contractors or large Subcontractors.

Really like the software and way it works. Just wish it weren't so hard to get it running and updated, etc. It seems to get getting easier but still a task at times.
When the program is finally set up and running , it works great and can get some really great reports. The reports you need can be difficult to set up but when done, they can create a wealth of knowledge at your fingertips

We moved from Quickbooks to Sage 100 Contractor. The job reporting, job costing, and percentage of completion accounting was key to our move.
Job data, inventory and vendor data are all tied together so you can run job cost reports and drill into the data easily.
At the moment - limited abilities to push/pull data through API's. Payroll works well - but the one timekeeping system that has API's into Sage 100 Contractor did not work for us.
