At the onset of the project, the software sounded like it would reduce the complexity of our commission schedule but automating it.

Implementation is a mess. Everytime we have done an SOW, there is inevitably a change order and something that doesn't get done properly. The black box of DELTA is a nightmare as only a specific team has access to make changes and understands it. The report builder in the system is not very intuitive and we have to shift our thinking to a "Xactly" perspective when creating reports.

The finalize and un-finalize payments by regions need to take a bit efforts. When we in finalize the payments, it opens up all the regions. Hope we could have options to in finalize by regions.

It is a software that is restrictive and rigid to adapt to the different compensation incentive schemes that are in the market. The way it was developed it is for a typical basic commission plan. Currently incentive plans for sales workforce have evolved and are less traditional, they are more complex and Xactly Incent is too rigid to adapt to creative plans.

Xactly offers our Salesforce daily traceability to their sales transactions. Xactly has made our commission process seamless.

I have no cons to report. The system works as designed. I have had the experience of designing the system for two different organizations I've worked for.

The overall support from Xactly and the changes we could make in the software to implement new plans was really bad. It would take us months to implement new annual plans.

1. The User Interface not appealing.
2. There is no description /details about information you see on screens like for example the report which shows you the detailed payout. guideline, help attached which explains what each of the fields on report means and how it is arrived at.
This is is the most important feature missing in the software right now.

it's easy to pick up for someone with little or no background in incentive compensation. navigation is easy and intuitive.

there are a few things that could be improved like saving your places when it logs you out, ordering periods in reverse order so one doesn't need to scroll through years worth of archived periods in the filters, etc.

I realize that most enterprise software depends on the implementation, but having used Oracle before this, I can honestly say I am less than impressed with Xactly. It doesn't have nearly as much functionality. I am just a user, but would not purchase it if my opinion mattered.

I have not used the software for long enough yet, but from what I heard at Xactly Unleashed Europe I'm excited to use all the different areas.
There is a lot of information on the Community Portal.

It is not user friendly - at least not to a new user. Some form of workflow or even a logical order of tabs would be helpful in managing processes. I'm sure once you understand it, it's great, but there is very little I have found that is intuitive.
E.g. When adding a new sales employee; nothing guides you or gives you a hint of the order that you have to set up user, title, person, position, hierarchy. Missing 1 step in this means starting again.

I love that I can spot check and cross-reference the totals in Xactly for my team
I can easily educate them on how we came up with their numbers via the reports

One of the things that attracted us to Xactly Incent was the flexibility and nimbleness of the platform. We were able to manage customization fairly independently.

Nachteile

As we grew, we were limited in certain aspects such as automating certain processes. It was difficult to scale on the platform.

Easy to view and see orders related to your compensation.

No direct link to orders in the system of origin. You are forced to cut and paste orders between the two solutions. We have SSO so you should be able to link back to the system of origin record from Xactly.

I disliked the fact that there were no good shortcuts available for this software. Shortcuts help immensely in any platform and Xactly's blatant lack of shortcuts create a lot of bottle necks

I like how I'm able to get at rep performance information (with some work), and get down to the commission payment per deal level. I can differentiate between renewal/new commission payments, which is critical for new amortization rules. Now that the commission rules have been built, commission calcs for the rest of the year are a breeze.

Nachteile

I don't like the reporting capabilities, and that may be because we don't have insights? I don't like the knowledge base, I find it to be useless at answering my questions. Employees can't get the best picture of how they are doing because they cannot download all the fields I would like them to have access to.

I like the way its designed, simple to upload data and easy to download. Adding to this, its user friend as transaction created is specific to activity we do.

Xactly needs to work on automating the calculation of commissions. As we need to also upload input files to get the expected result.

The ease of use and using the analytics module to create reports that allow for better visualization of commissions and credit. Our reps always understand what's going on and as i stated previously, if anything is not functioning properly, customer service is very quick to get back to you.

I wasn't even looking for something like this but stumbled upon it. We have different commission tiers and they sometimes get mixed up so this is definitely something we could look in to.

It would be nicer for credit assignment you are able to upload the territories. It is a lot of work doing it individual since we have one by sales person.

When I do use Xactly Incent, it tells me exactly what I need to know. The use cases are fairly straightforward, and I haven't had to administer the product, but as a user, it is fairly user friendly.

I think that the user interface is a bit outdated on Xactly Incent. Furthermore, there are periods of time that the product stops working when the sync is occurring and I can't access any information at all - not even past records.
