It takes a while to find certain items. when looking for reports or where I can approve multiple config changes, I found that I have to click around a bit to find the right screen. Hopefully with more use I will learn where to go quicker.

3) There is no bind for any vendor perspective, we can configure all vendor's network devices from NCM.
4) We also upgrade IOS from this tool.

NCM has allowed us to identify and remediate firmware vulnerabilities for our customer base. The reporting allows us to provide our customers with reports that assist them in planning and device replacement.

One of the core features of NCM that excited me is the Automated change management functionality, that we can track the change in real time, and we can know who mad these changes also the time of change is made

All features of NCM is very helpful for professional networking environment and in that features change notifications can be selected is the least one for me, also it should be helpful when more employees working with the same level and using NCM for change and Backup Managment of various Networking devices we can know who made that and there is option for roll back if it is undesirable.

I mostly liked the interface, it was very user-friendly and allowed me to check all the configuration settings and device statuses. It supports network devices from all vendors, making it easy to configure and manage, with straightforward access and setup

script/macro engine is weak, would prefer a full fledged script language, maybe a python hook.
One feature it doesn't have is what we call cdp, its a custom script that will keep track of the switch and its neighbor, it allows allows search by ip or Mac to find physical port.

GUI is easy to use and very intuitive.

NCM lacks a bit of polish, for example some of the GUI elements could use some rework.

One aspect that could be improved is the user interface. While it’s functional and offers a lot of features, it can sometimes feel cluttered and a bit overwhelming for those who are new to the platform. It takes some time to get familiar with all the options and navigate efficiently.
The initial setup can also be quite complex, especially in larger environments with multiple devices. Integrating it into an existing network might require more time and technical know-how than you might expect.
Lastly, while the tool supports a wide range of devices, there can occasionally be compatibility issues with less common or newer hardware, requiring more manual configuration or waiting for updates.

The user interface is very easy to navigate, it was very easy to get all of our devices into NCM and get them backed up. Writing configlets for common tasks (like an ios upgrade) was very easy.

Nachteile

The Compliance module is not the easiest to work with. Some of the features don't work as expected, it was somewhat difficult to get it to run a configlet automatically when it encountered a policy violation. That part never worked very well.

When the remote devices don't connect, the product is little un-forgiving and doesn't give much information. You have to invoke support to troubleshoot.

NCM has made managing our network devices super streamlined. We really like how easy it was to discover devices, add credentials, etc. It is super convenient to have all switches accessible from the same interface and SSH into them. The configlets are great as well. Very affordable as well.

It was throwing errors while adding the devices it might be the credentials issue or template issue. We need to dig into logs for easy to troubleshoot the issue.

I like bulk and remote modifications of end devices easily in ManageEngine NCM product. We can send configs to many devices in a single process. Additionally, the compliance abilitiy allows techs to standardizing the configurations as periodically checking devices automatically which is a great value for especially big companies. And finally, taking backups and even restoring them when needed save the day in disaster scenarios.

Nachteile

There are device templates (which allows techs to add devices easily to manage) on the product, but it should be richer. Even if the product allows techs to customize the templates, it should be much more automatic. Additionally, there are some EOS/EOL and vulnerability checks on the devices but these parts should also improved.

NCM is part of our Opmanager deployment so I didn't know much about it when we deployed it
The more I use it the more i found out about it. It has some very useful features and is a very good bolt on for Opmanager

Nachteile

It is not well laid out. Not sure if this is because it is a bolt on rather than a standalone product but I feel that things are scattered about, instead of everything being under a single menu option.. There are two or three different ways to get to NCM specific components and this make sit difficult to find setting if you are unfamiliar with it.

Quite extensive with features. the configlets are easy to use and quite practical. The list of recommended version for each device is one of the main reason we got this product.

There are small things here and there that could be annoying when you are migrating; menus refreshing after almost each operations, when doing some actions you are sent to an other place in the page and can't go back without navigating the menu again. nothing critical but can take some time when doing big jobs.

I like that you can back up and restore switch config, track compliance against CIS benchmarks and have an audit trail of who made configuration changes to devices. The vulnerability and EoL reporting is also useful.

I found the initial setup of adding devices and the required credentials to be a little unclear. We needed an account with full admin rights on the network devices in order to back up config and check for vulnerabilities and compliance.
