waiting for many enhancements Sage 100 Contractor

been a struggle and had to create many manual systems outside the software to operate and manage the business

I use this software on a daily basis for accounting and order entry

It has worked as a light easy accounting information system.

Vorteile

Ease of use. This software is easy to get started with and easy to make small basic customizations to fit your companies needs.

Nachteile

As always with ease of use comes lack of options to fit niche needs. Everything needs to be purchased through a third party vendor

Sage 100 - My Review

It's good, but your Sage Reporting and what else so confusing, it must have this and that license it ended up adding money which total subscription is not viable for small business pricing but medium or larger business. so we use barebones as what we have now.

to add module costs lots of money, does not make sense for small business like our Company, your pricing is comparable for medium or large business pricing

Sage 100cloud Software

Sage100cloud takes a bit to get used to; but the every-day functions are not difficult to maneuver. When you get into deeper more complex functions (which Sage offers) then it becomes quite difficult to learn how everything works together. It's a muscle machine and can handle a lot of data (we are in the manufacturing business).

Vorteile

We have used Sage for over 10 years. Our primary business is manufacturing. Sage has a wide range of tracking and amazing functions that can be done. If you need a robust program and have the budget for it, this is the one to go with.

Nachteile

Learning how to use all the completx functions proves to be difficult and training & software are very spendy.

Honest

I’ve been irritated with the ability to understand why something that should be easy to do has been made hard.

Vorteile

The ability to have all 3 locations in one company but with sub accounts.

Nachteile

It is difficult to do certain things in accounts payable and accounts receivable.

Sage is very easy to use!

Vorteile

I like the organizational view and how everything is very easy to find within the program. Financial statements are so easy to understand!

Nachteile

I would have to say the tech support sometimes lacks a little more attention to detail and availability to want to solve the program as quickly as possible.

Sage 100 Review

We have been able to grow our company and the suite has been able to support this with enough customization and scalability.

Vorteile

We have been using the Sage ERP Suite for over 10 years and it has been very reliable with only a few issues along the way. In there new releases they have mitigated the issues we have run into. We have been able to customize quite a bit to make it more streamlined for our users.

Nachteile

Payroll we had some issues with and moved to another solution.

A complete software to run your business

From the implementation (Sage 50 to 100) to the ongoing support, customer service has been great, easy to contact and knowledgeable.

Vorteile

I like the fact that all module related to the different operations of the company are connected to another.

Nachteile

The HR aspect of payroll can be improved. This is not an HR software by any means but some more functionalities could be introduced upgraded.

Sage 100 ERP Standard

Please consider a different ERP system before implementing Sage 100 ERP. It's not very good.

Vorteile

This software is OK for accounting. And that is about it. Any additional modules or functionality (you are buying this as an ERP, not just Quickbooks software) has an additional cost.

Nachteile

Very difficult to administrate. Online help is next to nothing. Proprietary database (ProvideX). Sage Support is very expensive and more often than not they will tell you that they can't help with your problem and you need to talk to your Sage consultant.. Upgrading software can be quite complex if you have any customizations. Next to no innovation in the software. I recently did a version 2014 to version 2017 upgrade (they have new versions every year). The biggest feature upgrade in those 3 years? You can now resize the window and have the text "somewhat" scale. Wow, just wow.

Every time we update the software or move to a new version, we have glitches and have to call for support.
It's also harder now to make custom reports for payroll (since it is a stand alone module)

Bill of Materials with ERP

We upgraded recently from MAS90 to Sage 100 and get kept going with few problems. Sage 100 works seamlessly with our various Windows applications. The seamless ERP integration, history and reporting features have provided valuable support for our company over the years. It was one of our best early decisions.

Vorteile

When we started the business 20 years ago, we needed a good Bill of Materials integration with an ERP system. This software provided that. The company has grown with the software. The software easily integrates with the Microsoft Office tools.

Nachteile

There are a lot features for much larger companies that we do not use. The CRM feature is not easily integrated. It requires separate installation.

Sage 100Cloud

Sage is a good product with an excellent support staff.

Vorteile

The product walks you through most of the modules with ease. It allows me to give ownership to the departments that work their modules and monitor their progress. Thankful for Sage University, bundling the training so that individuals get a better feel of what their use of Sage effects within the whole organization.

Nachteile

The number of redundant stops in updating. The lack of ability to reopen completed items like sales orders and work orders. The inability to utilize recurring invoicing through AR, as it does not have the capability of tying out the ship to address with sales tax.

Accounting and Inventory Ability

Vorteile

We went with Sage because we needed an accounting software that would also keep inventory stock. The fact that Sage has build able modules and customization available is pretty much the biggest asset available. I use Accounts Receivable, Payable, Sales Order, Inventory Management, Purchase order, General Ledger and Paperless office. I like that it allows me to more permanently close out accounting days and keeps track of all reports for later use.

Nachteile

It is a time consuming software to learn, definitely keep a professional on standby when installing and learning the system. Although I like being able to close out days and orders, it does make it a little harder to fix any mistakes. There are occasional bugs with the system but nothing that hasn't been able to be fixed with a phone call to our Sage installer.

Not so great for a small company

Vorteile

This product can do it all if you have a PHd in databasing!

Nachteile

Difficult to set up and launch. Works great once it is but the training time for my employees was very long. Large corporations would benefit from this overly robust product.

Great for Small Businesses

Sage 100 acts as the accounting system for our entire business. It's great for small businesses like ours.

Vorteile

We use Sage 100 for A/P, A/R, and G/L and those modules work great for our business. The interface is simple to use and customizable so you can see only the fields that are important to you. We've also built several import jobs to be able to import data from our other systems.

Nachteile

My only complaint with Sage 100 is that it practically requires a third-party to help you implement and upgrade every so often. I wish the upgrade process was more intuitive and better documented so that a third-party would not be necessary.

Extremely capable software, not very user friendly

It unifies our office to using one application for all our major business operation needs.

Vorteile

This software does everything. its highly customizable and now that it can run on SQL there are countless ways to pull data and reports on nearly any object or module.

Nachteile

Customizations can come back to bite you when it comes to support. The design feels like an old application that has had things "bolted on" for years to keep it relevant. It needs a complete rewrite using modern programming, languages, capabilities and techniques. Even though its customizable, its very rigid.

Quite dated but gets the job done.

We benefited from the simple menu as well as the report generating.

Very Sad!!! Very Very Sad!!

I would never recommend this software. Any looking for a way out. I know other companies who use this software and are taking the same approach. Maybe after enough people leave their service, they'll start acting like a customer friendly company; not a company that says ...... "I gotcha!!" Time to take the ride!!!

It is a sturdy platform. Served its purpose. Has good features .... a good overall solid mid sized company package.

Nachteile

As in previous reviews, they are now price gouging with huge support price increases. Can't get any update without getting support plan. They do not have a "pay for support" option only for the experienced user of their software. Now we can't get phone support. Only support given is through web chat. That really sucks!! Imagine trying to teach someone how to use the Report Writer feature through web chat. Very Sad!!!

I love all of the different capacities, EDI is wonderful through Sage 100. Invoicing is a breeze.

There's so much to learn. I don't even know 1/4 of what I can do in sage 100.

Vorteile

All the modules are set up the same. We have 8 modules and the set up is the same style.

Nachteile

Reporting could be easier. They are moving to crystal reports and being able to export from each module but they are not there yet. Attaching tables is a pain to deal with.

Sage is awesome

So far it has been great. I love you can put information in spread sheet.

Vorteile

I used Mas90 for 18 years and Sage 100 there is a lot more you can do with it. Took time to get used to but I am still learning the ins and outs of the product. I like using it so far.

Nachteile

You need to be able to put longer descriptions in.

Dynamic Accounting Software

Sage gets the job done. It takes us from billing the customers and paying our bills to the end of the month customer statements and financial statements.

Vorteile

The software is perfect for billing customers, sending statements, gathering finacial data for financial reporting.

Nachteile

It could be a bit more user friendly. You can use the help system to figure out most things you might not be familiar with however.

Simple to use, yet an accurate accounting tool

We are a mid size property management company located on the Northshore of Massachusetts. Our condominium client list is a composition of business and residential complexes. The Sage product gives us the flexibility to manage the day to day account activity, along with the accountability and flexibility to oversee the billing aspects which occur as a result of the various service request we receive daily. Our staff consist of management professions, account and billing personnel. Everyone in our organization has exposure to the Sage product even our administrative staff, who are often required to utilize the Sage product to verify client billing and invoices. It is a simple yet effective accounting and administrative product that works well for a company of our size.

Doesn't have the fancy looking categories. It's just plain and simple

The Toyota Corolla. Not fancy, but efficient and reliable.

Efficient. It works. Lots of features. Reliable.

Vorteile

It's reliable and it's a great way to organize data. I like that I can pull data into Excel with a Microsoft Query and have multiple tables to get information from, such as invoice history, purchase order, sales order, and item information.

Nachteile

It's ancient looking. The aesthetics of the software in Classic View is not modern at all. However, it gets the job done and it's very efficient.

Easy to Use but Lacks Features

It was quickly apparent that Sage was not a good fit for my company even though it was easy to figure out and integrated with many PSAs that I was considering at the time, I just wasn't able to use the US version for what I needed.

Vorteile

Easy to use overall. Simple to navigate, the interface is intuitive, and it is easy to reach customer service. Integrates with many PSAs.

Nachteile

Lacks basic features (such as recurring invoices and expenses) that most other options in this field offer.

This only applies to the US version of this software. The UK version appears to be much more fleshed out.

It works

We have Sage 100c...not cloud.

Vorteile

What I like most about this software is that it's not worse. I've used worse, but I have definitely used better.

Nachteile

This software is not easily customizable. Some simple things that could be better are just a pain. For example, posting entries, one should never have to go through several steps to post every single time. I've worked with softwares where you can set it to the level of steps you want. If you want to print and post, you should be able to do that all in one step.

Director of Finance

Master programmers and software support is available across the US. If you don't like your support group, you can easily hire another. No need to convert software solutions.

Vorteile

This software is easily customizable at install AND it is reliable. The software updates are rarely a problem; no need to wait for other users to test and work out the bugs found in some software updates.

Nachteile

Module pricing is a little more costly than other software, but then again how much is data integrity worth?
I like to sleep at night, so it's a good investment.

Affodable step up from Quickbooks

i have used a variety of ERP software packages in my career, including Quickbooks and Microft Dynmaics' Navision, and Sage 100 provides a full feaured ERP package at an affordable price. Cost's per user for a month's subscription for the Essentials core accounting package (GL, AP, AR, Bank Reconciliation) and a little more for the Advanced Bundle (Essentials plus Inventory, Purchasing, and Sales Order), and more for the Complete Bundle (Essentials plus Bar Code, Return Materials Authorization, and Bill of Materials). 2020 Review of Sage 100 Cloud

Overall we are very pleased with Sage 100 cloud. Our IT consultant finds it easy to help us trouble shooting if needed, and customer service has been very helpful. We have also found it easy to adapt to our company needs. The upgrade to Sage 100cloud was seamless.

Vorteile

The product is user friendly, the pull down windows are very helpful for new employees. New employees were easily trained to use the product.

Nachteile

It would be a great enhancement if all reports would not close after print/print preview.

Our checks are not standard laser printer checks, and it was a little challenging to set up to print correctly. Smart printers would not allow the adjustments. Final fix was to purchase an inexpensive printer.

Why I like Sage

Vorteile

I like how easy it is to get the information that I need when I need it. Reports are easy to read and understand. It is very easy to maneuver around.

Nachteile

Before we upgraded to a newer version I liked the way my reports printed off. Some of the reports went to landscape and some stayed portrait. With it doing that some of my reports are more pages.

Mas 100 modules

The modules all use the same format and features. When a user is familiar with one module it is easy to learn to use all the modules.

Easy and productive

Vorteile

Easy to maneuver through it and all the modules. It can do everything I need it to do and it provides me with all of the reports and data that I need.

Nachteile

I get a lot of errors and have to sign out. Things get complicated with multiple users doing certain things at the same time. I think it may be more of a computer issue and not a program issue, but often times I have to wait 10-20 seconds for modules to open which can be frustrating when trying to get things done quickly.

My daily must at work

Vorteile

I have been using Sage Mas90 for more than 9 years. We are a manufacturing company and many of our data are entered or stored in this program. We have our Bill of materials, accounting stuff, customer information in this program and we update or write data in daily basis. I use it mostly for pulling data and using it for building our product. Without it things would be very unorganized and hard to manage.

For the purpose i use it as an engineer, i have no problem.

Not the best..

Overall, I am unimpressed with Sage 100. I have not found it to be helpful or beneficial to my daily usage. I would not have chosen this software for my company.

Vorteile

The only thing that I like about this software is the modules. It does make it easier to find the specific feature that I am looking for, for example entering a purchase order or searching for a vendor.

Nachteile

I am unaware if this software has the ability to copy previous transactions, at this point I have not yet found that it can. I do not like that there is not a system information feature to view who created what with timestamp. I also do not like that there is not the option to import/upload supporting transaction documents, for example the quote for a purchase order or vendor application for a new vendor.

Excellent software

I enjoyed using Sage. It was very easy to learn and easy to navigate. Within a week of training, the employees were able to use the software fully. I like how there is so much you can do with the program. I would highly recommend this software.

Sports Industry

Sage 100 cloud has made it easier to track COVID refunds and losses by the ease to set up different accounts or departments to track those.

Vorteile

Sage Intelligence Reporting is amazing. We have a certain financial reporting format that we like to use and Sage Intelligence helped set up that format and allows for that template to be saved and simply push a button and your done.

Nachteile

Paperless office could be easier to search and pull up in the actual software for a detailed drill down view.

Sage Review

Overall, Sage has been a good experience. It doesn't work well over a VPN connection, so it is difficult to work from home, but other than that, I haven't had any bad experiences with Sage 100c.

Vorteile

The ease of use of this software is what I like most about it. We only use the GL & AP modules and I haven't experienced any issues with those modules.

Nachteile

The software really needs a real cloud-based version that does not have to be installed on a server. The name Sage 100cloud is really misleading.

Sage 100c at the Non-Profit

I have used Sage for over 20 years and I am very impressed with how the system has evolved with the change in technology. As a new user it was easy to navigate and as an experienced user there is always more to explore.

For simple and portable accounting needs

Vorteile

Sage is an accounting software with more than enough features for simple accounting tasks. It is highly recommended for small inputs. It is applicable for tax management which I think, most software lack. VAT reports and filing is possible with this software. Expense tracking and cash management, amongst other features of this software, are another features of this software that I use both personally and for work. Sage is just easy and simple. Its app availability is also a great plus.

Nachteile

I have found that slow internet connection also slows output for this software which is really hard if you are trying to reach a quota. But it is still highly capable of its work depending on your internet connection.

Manufacturing Standpoint

Nachteile

Where we are at now is very manual and repetitive when moving from location to location in our process. Repeating the work order entry to move from step to step. We have looked into the WO Scan option but it didn't fit our process. I am hoping the new production manager helps solve these issues and is a overall more user friendly and robust program

Sage 100 Is A O.K.!

Vorteile

I like how user friendly it is. Every item you need to use is laid out in the menu section so you know exactly where to go for which function you want to use. It updates batches quickly and accurately.

Nachteile

The only thing I do not like about Sage 100 is if you have multiple companies/entities under one main company, you have to have separate billing systems for each. You cannot merge vendor information from one company to the next.

Easy to learn

Now that I have added another role to my resume here - I am finding how this all works together. I only had the accounting piece before. Now I see how my entries in PO will effect what happens when I invoice vendors and when I (occasionally) do the sales orders - I see how that effects the purchasing/invoicing Customers.

Vorteile

I came from another company where we used Visual Mfg. Coming here and learning a completely new program made me nervous but, my fears were not warranted. It was very similar which helped me to be able to pick it up quickly.

Nachteile

I have no complaints. Maybe after I use it for more than a couple of years I will.

Long Time User

Vorteile

The best part of Sage is the flexibility to mold it to your business needs. Like all businesses, we have special needs and as we were able to identify our needs we were able to make Sage fit into them.

Nachteile

The interface is clunky. We ended up using Sage mostly for back office needs and creating a website that better presents us with the information on customers and products that is more robust than the standard Sage package.

A solid staple for SMB market

My experience with Sage 100cloud is mostly consultative. I sell systems that integrate with it and hear feedback from end users on a daily basis (6+ years now). For those who have taken the time to plan out their resources and operations, it can be very effective in managing your business-critical data.

Vorteile

If you are manufacturing or distribution company that is breaking $5 mil - $10 mil annually, then Sage 100 offers a suite of functionality that can be built out and customized to meet your specific needs. From Accounts Receviable, Payable and your General Ledger to powerful modules for Sales, Inventory, and Production Management, there are a broad range of tools at your disposal that can be Additionally, Sage 100cloud comes with an eco-system of Independent Software Vendors who can seamlessly integrate with your critical data. Sage becomes the primary system of truth for your business, and when configured right, it can be a powerful tool for growing and scaling. Further more, if you connect with the right reseller in the channel, they can guide you and consult with you on best practices to ensure your implementation is successful.

Nachteile

Some of it's UI can be clunky and difficult to use. Sage 100 has origins going way back to the 1980s (MAS90), and it can be behind the curve when it comes to things like ease of use and having a clean and simple aesthetic. Their are competitors that have cleaner UI's, but Sage 100 has a history of serving SMB markets in versatile ways, and this doesn't need to be why you don't buy.
