I 'am beginner in ActCAD, I discovered great new software, It is very easy to use, Shortcut keys are good,Also ActCAD is very low price as compared to another CAD.

As of know to the extent I have used this tool I do Not found any cons of using this tool.As it is very cost effective as compared to the functions it provide.In my opinion it is best software .

Similar to other products and changing settings was easy. Also some small features that felt nice at first (even though I later turned them off).

Couple of big bugs and several smaller ones. I paid extra for network license but almost every time (couple of times per week) I switched the computer I had to manually reset the license on the homepage. Also quite often when the Windows was waking up from sleep, the ActCAD thought that there was no internet connection and closed without saving any open work.Another big problem was that sometimes some objects were randomly invisible and therefore also impossible to select. I tried to report that bug but got no response for that.Smaller annoying thins were worst autoregen I've seen in years (even with the best settings the circles most of the times had corners), several commands didn't have midcommand undo and also so slow autosave on a powerful computer that I quite often were wondering why the program doesn't respond.

It is one of the best CAD solution in the Industry. ActCAD comes with all the latest features & functions which is very helpful for Engineers, designers & draftsman for their day to day engineering activities. The ease of use makes it more user friendly software for cad users.

Did? You mean "Do" because I still use this product and I also use other products. This product has its pros and cons like any, its strong points is being able to convert other files to DWG format to work within, I like the abilities to customize having the Intellicad work engine this is a great software that can be expanded.

Like I said my main consensus would be the lake of graphic abilities as like other programs, but this is doable because a person gets use to it over time, plus there is a happy medium, and some are just to fine where it makes them hard to see and the files become to large.

To be perfectly honest, I was looking for an alternative to the extremely expensive standard when the COVID 19 pandemic occurred and we had to cut down on expenses. So, after trying several other CAD programs which simply were too limited or have an unfamiliar format that would require too long to master, I happened on ActCAD almost by accident. To my delight ActCAD turned out to be the perfect alternative in every way.

Nachteile

Most of what I do is in 3D rendering. The quality of visual renderings displayed on my excellent monitors, especially when transparencies are involved is noticeably grainy in appearance. Also, what I call "anchor points" which would be the reference base point for copying or moving anything usually defaults to some undesired reference. I'd like to know if there's a fix for that. Finally, when executing any command the default position for the keystrokes should be the COMMAND line. It is a nuisance to have to always anchor the command with the cursor.

Definitely the price. The difference is just not comparable when it comes to a standard program on the market (AutoCAD). The overall quality of ActCAD stands out when it comes to a simple CAD program for small and medium companies, includding individuals.

Altough there are a lot of positive features, there are characteristics that require more polishing. Just to mention a few: Table Import, Dinamic Blocks, Text Style configuration (it usually crashes the program), overkill rework, export data, etc.

It takes several requests, but they actually do eventually fix obvious flaws.

Licenses often stick and can't be released to move to another station. Takes a few days, and multiple emails to convince them to release it. Unable to connect to server M1 is usual error message. Very annoying.

Printing actual screen is a challenge. Often it scales objects differently when you print what looks great on screen.

What I liked most about this product is the affordable price for a high end drafting software.

One thing is having to remember to deactivate the licence at the workplace office and reactivate at the home office. Suggest having the software recognised the location of the user when logging in and the program automatically deactivates and reactivates between the IP addresses.

DWG files are compatible with all other autocad based software. The software has steadily gotten better with each release, as has tech support. Importing of text files is very good.

The menu update option is non functional, making updates difficult at best because tech support must be contacted for a link and the original program completely uninstalled. Some of the snap options, especially to snaps, don't always work even when turned on as in options. The precision settings for Surveyor's Units do not function as they should.

My previous experience with AutoCAD 14 was enough to most all of the many features of this software. The software is unbelievably inexpensive. It is so inexpensive, compared to other software, I thought I had read the price incorrectly. I have not had any problems running the program on my Windows 10 computer. I had been the senior project manager of two $100 million plus projects that used AutoCAD 14 and based on the results of the AutoCAD 14 software compared to my ActCAD software, I would say that they were equal.

I struggled at first with 3-D functions when I tried them, but now I look forward to trying them again.

ActCAD helps our remote project teams track model issues using Revit files. That we can track changes straight from the site and interact immediately within the prepared form is fantastic. The ActCAD mobile app is equally simple to use, allowing field engineers to create assignments or respond to site issues directly with office employees. ActCAD also allows users who are unfamiliar with 3D drawing software to examine 3D designs. It is possible to grasp the planned designs and circumstances using 3D models. ActCAD allows you to collaborate with the rest of the team without crashing or affecting the model. ActCAD is a very user-friendly engineering software.

Nachteile

Managing the platform can be somewhat cumbersome without training and setup help. ActCAD can be a bit slow at times when trying to sync and this can waste some time.

The product is easy to use and it's easy for the user to adopt to it, especially when they have already an experience with similar software as an engineer student for example. What i personally like the most, is the similar construction it has with "AutoCAD" in overall, which was the software i first learnt to work with as a student.

1) There is no separate command for measuring angles!
2) When measuring area and happens to undo a vertex, the boundary of currently selected vertices disappears.
3) The selection options need upgrade.

WORKSPACE - DRAFTING AND ANNOTATION

- Block library would not work in most of the cases and would disappear from your drawing and you would not be able to use blocks which they are offering.
- Editing "Attributes" in ActCAD is a forever task. Also, "MTEXT" in attributes does not work most of the times.
- "Field" tab in ActCAD has very less features available as compared to other commercial software. Especially "ctab" feature is not available which is a very basic feature.
- You do not get a different dimension layer in the "Annotation" tab where you can set a different layer to only dimension text and lines.
- Cannot not run "Visual Basic" applications.
- Very Slow. With the recommended system requirements as they have on their website, ActCAD is not able to handle even small scale projects.
- CUSTOMER SUPPORT: They advertise that they have lifetime customer support. They will reply you promptly but the issues still remain UNSOLVED. I contacted customer support regarding "Block Library" issue somewhere in October 2020 but till date the issue is NOT RESOLVED.

Can open and edit and save drawings from 20+ years ago that were first drawing in DOS Autocad. Also opens and edits my most recent cad files from 2020 version of Autocad. No problems with transportability. I have used the same drawings on both systems with no issues.

Nachteile

When snap tracking is on the software can grab points all around you intended target. The error is so small it is hard to detect until you zoom in and look at the corners. When you close the program, if you don't select yes to the prompt for saving, the UI settings and some drawing settings are lost. I have to reload tool bars and set the UI back to my preferred type.

I use this software as a replacement to MicroStation, which is what I used at my work, but I retired and lost access to cad software. Not wanting to spend a lot of money, or have to have a renewable license, this software is perfect. I am not a cad operator by trade. I used it at work to update drawing done by those who do that full time. I mainly use it for house plans for remodels I do, or basic part sketching for things I build in my shop. I am not efficient, but I love the accuracy of being able to draw in scale, print in scale, and produce professional looking drawings.

I don't want to be critical, because so much of what is confusing to me is only because of syntax issues with how ActCad performs a function, and how I was taught using other software. The software will do anything I need it to do, just not always obvious. For me, getting the snaps to work just as I am expecting has been difficult, but thats likely just operator unfamiliarity, as I still only use the software somewhat sporadically. I'll use it say 4 or 5 hours a day for a week or two, then maybe not at all for a couple of weeks, then only an hour or so.

Works just the the 'other' CAD software. Commands are the same. The menus are different, and that takes a little time to get used to if you use both applications. But other than that detail, you will not go wrong with this software. I've used it for 3-4 years now and it does everything I need it to do.

It is tricky to use it on several computers (only one at a time). I could not get it to transfer the license because their web domain is blocked on our internal network. It required special settings by our IT department to work, and it's still buggy. This is the only problem I've ever had.

I have an issue with bugs mostly while I am trying to paste a part of the drawing on it. Inclined lines doesn't always give you the ability to click their end-points and continue them inclined as they are. Took me some time to find how to scale a line-type. Text change paragraph on its right if you don't have the text window dragged downwards enough for your text to fit in and that is pretty annoying to do.

The software has all features which a designer wants, opens all CAD drawings based on other software, irrespective of their issue dates.

Nachteile

Since I am used to using some other software, the I find the format difficult to use, particularly when I use it after a long gap. I am only a designer of equipment and factory layouts and do not use it very frequently. After a long gap of time, it takes some time to recapitulate the commands. It would be really very helpful if you come out tutorials to draw various shapes of objects using the commands of your software.
