This is the best password manager out there. I've used so many trying to find one that syncs across multiple devices, auto detects and fills/saves passwords, and has an inbuilt password generator. This is it. And it's amazing to see you get so much with the free version. There are some out there claiming to be the best but this is simple, intuitive, and easy to use. Very secure as well.

Nachteile

None. I've never come across any issues.

The free version of this software is very good, as it allows saving passwords directly in the browser and automatically syncing them to the Android phone. It is also possible to add small notes, bank credentials or any other information in text mode easily.

Nachteile

On some sites, this software does not automatically save the creation of a new login and password, and you have to add it manually. In some situations he wants to re-save a login and password that were previously added. It does not have a password resend option, but it does have the master password hint option.

Vorteile

Obviously, number one is that it is free and supports both mobile devices and desktop devices. Second is that it is open source. I trust open source more than proprietary software.

Nachteile

It doesn't always auto-fill. On web sites that have a popup for login it doesn't work.
Sharing an entry requires moving it to a shared folder instead of sharing from where it is in the vault.

It is both integrated and open source. I like the send feature because it makes it possible to send files securely without being watched. It is cross-platform software, so it can be used with all other devices. I appreciate the ability to easily and securely create and use passwords and identities.

It is a bit clunky and not as user-friendly as I would like. Thereis no recovery option for master password.

Bitwarden has a feature set that is comparable to all its competitors, at a fraction of the cost. It's also compatible with most OSs, which makes it one of the few viable options if you are a Linux user.

Nachteile

The UI is less intuitive compare to its mainstream competitors, but it's not a problem for experienced users.

I tried many password managers and the free version of Bitwarden is no doubt the best. The migration process from LastPass was seamless and there only a few features that I miss here.

Nachteile

It's not bad, but I can't make the Android app work as well as LastPass did. The autofill and autosave doesn't work as expected, but in 80% of the cases it's good enough and in these 20% situations the copy + paste solves the problem.

Despite its young age, it is very easy to use and set up. It has learned from its ancestors/rivals aiming to a very simple interface and a lot of functionalities.

Nachteile

Being very young, it has sometimes some issues, like when it didn't recognized a password change on some websites. Luckily is updated very frequently.

BitWarden has everything you need in a password manager! It's easy to use and straightforward. I've been a user of another application for a long time, but I'm glad I found BitWarden because it's perfect! The browser extension works great and the mobile app do what it's supposed to do. Highly recommend!

Nachteile

I would recommend some improvements on the mobile app UI/UX. It do what is supposed to do, but I think a better UI would give BitWarden some extra points.

Bitwarden is Absolutely great when it comes to Password management as well as password encryption.
One of my favorite things ive gotten recently and a must have for anyone wanting a safer experience on the internet.

This application lacks a downside. As Long as you have bitwarden on everything and updated, you shouldnt ever have problems with passwords again!

Works well, security first development mentality, constantly improving. Other than an initial learning curve of integrating a proper password manager into my networked life, it's one of those things I kind of forget that I'm even using.

Security key on mobile is still "soon". Growing pains means difficulty prioritizing feature requests with a smaller team. Some edge cases can result in surprises, but nothing I couldn't fix with history. Biggest complaint is around prompting to save or update credentials. Seems like many websites don't follow conventions or standards and Bitwarden does not have as comprehensive of exceptions as some alternatives.

It supports multiple devices and has built-in 2FA authentication. Also, Bitwarden support on-premise hosting, it helps me to comply with the organization's data policy.

UI/UX for iOS app needs more improvements, I have to search for the credential manually when sign-in to the other apps.

We are using this across a large organisation that is growing fast. Passwords can be grouped by sections of the company and access granted accordingly so it's not just one big password log.

I find it exceptionally helpful when there are systems that I only need access to once a month and don't want to save it in my browser passwords.

Nachteile

To be honest, no issues with this particular software outside of ensuring that all people in the organisation add in the shared passwords and keep them updated. It's only as good as the users.

I regularly have problems updating to the next version using the update prompts within the software. For this reason, I download updates directly from the website.

Sometimes it doesn't ask you if you want to add a login when you log into a website for the first time, and more often it doesn't ask you if you want to update a password when you are restoring one.

Last Pass puts that little buttons inside the form and it's very annoiying because website are not always well done, so lots of times I clicked (or tapped) them by mistake. Plus I didn't like Last Pass on mobile app because it doesn't prompt to fill in on some apps and I had to save more than one password for the same service (website and app).

when I switched to warden I was hesitant but from step one bitwarden was great. it managed to import all my passwords seamlessly and even managed to import the notes, the password generation is very good , and I seem to find that the software manages to autofill info for more websites that other password managers.

what I like least about the software is that for fingerprint login you need both the chrome extension and the standalone software, it would be nice if you only needed the extension

I wish the Bitwarden business model charge some small fee for the entry tier of service. It seems like they offer too much for free, which is a concern for continued operation.

If you have not been using a password manager till now, then you are missing so much on security and usability. And Bitwarden is maybe the best one of them. Free, open-source, and with the ability to create passwords, easily auto-complete them and group them. Really you can't go wrong with this software.

Nachteile

There are a few times that the auto-completion of passwords does not work automatically (you need to manually click on the password from the icon) and sometimes on the phone, the app is not running and so you need to open it before it proposes you to fill the password.

It's easy to use, has advanced features for organizing and sharing data within an organization and very importantly, it's all open source.

Nachteile

The web browser plugin sometimes fails to correctly identify and fill in multi-form login pages.

To start off, I have to say that the greatest "feature" was that it is open source. Sure, there are a plethora of features, but what truly sets this password manager apart from the abundance of others is its capability to be self-hosted and the fact that it is open source.

Nachteile

The greatest con isn't the password manager's fault, it is the fault of the concept of password managers, this product is so great that it has very little to no flaws. This con is the learning curve and getting used to opening a program everytime you want to access your 20 character long password

-I can use it on my mobile too.

Using biometrics to log in on Mac is buggy sometimes.

Bitwarden is open source. This means that anyone can look at the code and check that it does not contain any malicious modifications. Also, it is adopted by a large number of users, making it easier for you to share passwords with others. Premium options are fairly priced.

Nachteile

I wish a free user could share passwords (as in Lastpass) and save attachment (as in Zoho Vault). Also, switching from a different PW manager has proved a headache, since I had to use a plain csv format and most of my details went lost or mismanaged.

I am using bitwarden for the last 5 months, for managing my passwords. And now I don't need to remember my password because this task does by bitwarden. And its best feature is to check my password with data beach and inform me if I am using a password to expose on the internet. That's is a great feature.

I have currently only used the Bitwarden free version. It has an awesome set of features and I would highly recommend it as a password manager.

I switched from Lastpass. It had a feature that would scan all your saved passwords and provide you with recommendations of passwords that might be considered insecure. I liked this featured and so far have not seen anything similar in BitWarden.

One of the pros is how easy it is to switch from other password managers to Bitwarden and have all your passwords carry over. The biggest pro is that this software is completely free and open-source, making it a more affordable option compared to more popular managers.

Nachteile

The only con is that the app feels a little unpolished/glitchy at times when compared to bigger and more developed password managers, making it harder to use.

- We use Bitwarden as a team as we all need password access to various software, so we can have an account with one email address but can all log-in. And of course keeping other details like credit card info.
- Its nice that the browser extension asks on new sites with log-in whether you want to save this too or "never ask for this site".

Nachteile

- I was about to complain about a weird interface detail of how when you are logging into Bitwarden, the unlock button is faded, and instead log-out is highlighted as the main CTA causing confusion but I went to check before typing, and looks like they've fixed this! Thus, no complaints.

The price was the initial thing which attracted me to this solution. There are a whide range of apps for all platfroms. All seem very stable. Features such as the TOTP token generator are really useful to have. The new sharing features are really welcome as that was a big issue before and this solves it nicely.

Nachteile

If you forget your master password, there is absolutely no way to get in. I understand this is to keep the vaults secure as possible. Luckily the emergency contacts feature helps to resolve this issue but it could be an issue if you were working alone.

For starters, it is Open source and free of charge. It has a Premium tier which is very affordable for 10 dollars a year and gives a lot of extra features. However, there is no need as the free tier is still a lot better than LastPass, which is overpriced and limiting. It does a good job of storing the passwords securely. There is also the iOS app which makes it easy for me to save the passwords on the vault in the app in a secure manner. There is also great integration with iOS and I was able to transfer my passwords easily from my previous password manager to this one.

Nachteile

I would be nitpicking if I said the interface could be more sharp but that's about it. There is hardly anything bad about this.

Nothing. I got hacked 3 years ago. I needed to beef up my computer security. Passwords are the first and best defense. So, I lengthened my passwords to 20 characters. Originally, I was skeptical of PMs but now I can't live without. Since using Bitwarden, I have had no security issues at all. I highly recommend it.
