Nachteile

I wish more people in our organization could use it!!!! Just doesn’t fit their processes at the moment… I am working on it though!

Vorteile

The ability to create epics and cards at a basic level is good enough for most use cases. However, Shortcut also offers many more features such as teams, projects, iterations, and many more making this tool useful for so many people.

The first thing I do when opening my work laptop is go to my Shortcut dashboard. I look over all of myself and my teams different tasks and track their progress. As well as give myself action items by assigning myself a card. This in result boots my productivity tremendously.

Nachteile

Has a little bit of a learning curve due to the amount of features and customization it offers. Don’t feel guilty by not using it to its full potential because there is a lot to unpack.

I like the ease of use, from day one of setting up Clubhouse it just made sense and was easy to configure for our purposes. It was easy to jump in and start using without much learning curve for all of the team members as well. We love how much work we can have in a single work space and with powerful filtering, searching, everyone gets their perfect view for their purpose!

Nachteile

I wish there were more canned reporting features for Kanban workflows, but honestly it's not the end of the world since we have access to the REST API for building our own custom reports!

Right now our private Gitlab integration isn't working but what is amazing is that Clubhouse support and engineering is working through it with us. I love that about Clubhouse.

(Can you tell it's hard for me to find something negative about the software???)

Seems silly, but for me, it's the ability to create tasks under a ticket, and be able to convert those into tickets on their own. Jira did not have this, and still doesn't as far as I know, but wouldn't matter - Shortcut is simple to use, and ready to go out of the box.

Nachteile

Doesn't have the brand recognition, so hard to convince others that its the correct solution to use.

The software is so easy to use and was really easy to set up. Almost every integration you could need is also available to make workflow quicker and more automated.

Nachteile

Switching from Projects to Teams has been quite difficult and required that we rework our custom board and views used for our normal agile ceremonies.

Nachteile

I'm very happy with this software. I don't really have any cons. It would be nice if it were completely free, but it is valuable to me either way.

The software is incredible, it's easy to use, and the features just feats your team needs.

Nachteile

For Brazil it is a really expensive product, I wouldn't be able to pay the complete version, although I know that the free plan locks features that would be really helpful. Some international companies vary the price based on the exchange rate. That would allow to sell your product here easily. For example, for a team of 7 the price would be $84,00, that makes almost R$500,00 here that is almost the same as all the shopping (food, grocery..) for a family of two for a month. See?Other than that, it would be awesome to be able to change the team shortcut url. When I've created my team account I didn't know that the company name would be used for the URL, now it is very long and very ugly to share.

Works as expected for an agile project management software; lots of different ways to add granularity (or not) depending on the team's needs. I use it a bit differently when interfacing with PMs vs. developers, and it works well for both. There are a variety of ways to label, flag, track, and segment tasks so it can fit most needs.

Nachteile

Due to all the customizability, understanding the views and different flags and how they interact can take time. For example, a "team" category may be selected but not a "project" category, so then a task may not show up in a given view. This is ok so long as your team knows what they are looking for and things are assigned appropriately.

Vorteile

This product is simple and easy to use! The features Shortcut offers are intuitive. It is very easy to filter tasks or bugs and all the data looks very organized. Each task/bug story is very easy to drag and drop to a new workflow state, and you can see every workflow state and their stories at once which makes it very easy to assess the status of a project and see what features and bugs still need to be completed. It is also easy to filter stories by project or user, tag other users in a story, and link stories together in the order they need to be completed.

Nachteile

We just us this software internally. It would be cool if we could use this externally with our clients as well, and be able to hide certain workflow states or story comments from them, and/or hide client comments from the devs and let the project manager interface between the devs and clients.

Can branch out the epic easily from origin when too much topic / stories relate to one single task, easy to manage.

Nachteile

Report : difficult to view milestone and every team member epic / stories completion, declared start and end date vs actual end date.Charging fee : I have team member join and leave, empty seat is a waste of money.

Shortcut works very well for simple agile management and task tracking. Its very easy to collaborate in real time. Its very simple to use compared to other tools, though somewhat less feature rich than competitors.
Its much less developer centric than some competitors which makes it more approachable for non-technical contributors (product managers, support staff, business analysts, etc).

Nachteile

It has very few integrations overall compared to JIRA and is much less automated as a result. This can put more work on developers to maintain the cards than they would in competitor's products. Search is also not great which can make it hard to lookup tickets and can cause duplicates / confusion when people can't find the original ticket.

It's non-invasive product that can be used in many different development processing styles, we have used it from Scrum, to KanBan to ShapeUp

Tasks/Ideas can easily get lost due to poor organization of shortcut

Flexibility and ease of the software - Clubhouse is extremely easy to learn and provides the ability to mold the software and functionality to your team's workflows.
Additionally, the Clubhouse team is continuously adding new integration and features that are best practice for most modern and agile product & tech teams.

Nachteile

Not necessarily a specific con to Clubhouse but in general for all project management tools. Given the need for detailed requirements, it is necessary to write a lot of content on tickets. As such, the mobile experience is not on part with the browser desktop experience. That being said, I tend to create shell tickets on the mobile app or mobile view, then complete the tickets on a desktop when I have full functionality and familiarity.

* It has multiple layers of organization (story, epic, milestone)

Nachteile

* The higher layers of organization do not 100% align with our process
* Some features are not available on different layers and it seems arbitrary. For example, you can't get a burn down on a sprint if that Sprint is not tracked as a "milestone". So if you are using Milestones to track large scale projects (maybe quarter goals or multi-epic initiatives) you have no way to track how your Sprint is going. Either they need a first-class Sprint concept, or allow burn downs on labels.

Nachteile

Have only ever run into a few minor issues:

1. Setting up the backlog of our stories to prioritize
- Solution: If you have a ticket that you would like to appear in the backlog. Set the owner as yourself(Product Manager) and set the state to Unscheduled. And we also set up the filters for the backlog to display tickets that have a PM as the owner and are unscheduled.

2. Estimate section of ticket creation - would attribute one point to one day of work, but not having the ability to set half a day of work because there is no 0.5 option

3. When copying plain text from a word file and pasting it into a ticket, I would like it to also appear as plain text

Simpler to use than JIRA since the defaults are good enough for most cases.

Nachteile

Cannot find documentation. Googling clubhouse or shortcut leads to completely wrong products. The product name is not unique enough / does not have enough SEO to find help on Google.

Custom search is not powerful enough. I really like JIRA's JQL where I can write arbitrary search filters and sort bys. In fact, I can't even sort when using the search filters! It always sorts by relevance but if I need to groom the backlog, I can't even sort by ticket creation time or ticket number.

I like the visuals, the ease-of-use, everything is pretty intuitive even the first time you're using it. It's been a couple of years since my team started using it, and it works very well for us.

The name change recently forced us to adapt a lot of our automation regarding the app, but the reason for it was understandable.

Clubhouse has a modern UI that feels fast. Search is very powerful and you can usually find past issues that you are looking for without a great deal of work.

Nachteile

The Clubhouse APIs are relatively new and while they are good, they do not cover everything you might need to do. The integrations with Slack are OK and maturing.

I often receive numerous files (ex. images) & links to mocks from our design team. It would be nice to have a more organized section that holds all attachments instead of them all being listed in the comments

Organizing across projects using epics and milestones helps keep things straight. Keyboard shortcuts allow quickly jumping around the workspace. Setting up saved custom filters in the story view help filter my work easily.

Nachteile

Need a way visualize dependencies to properly organize work. A gantt style chart that wasn't solely based on dates might help with that.

Flexible design allows for different teams to work in different flows.
Labels are extremely unstructured and therefore flexible to be used in different ways as needed.

Nachteile

Write feature (documentation) is very important to us both for general documentation and for documents pertaining to specific projects / epics, but it's very buggy / not being developed anymore.

Clubhouse has been really easy to onboard to, curate our roadmap of epics and milestones, track stories across projects, itemize our projects (website vs marketing vs platform vs api vs apps) and segment our work across them but rolling up under the related epics with per project/epic/milestone velocity reporting.

Nachteile

Figuring out the expected associations between Projects, Milestones -> Epics and how it fits into your product structure took a little trial and error. The main thing I like the least is that as a developer, I'm part of several teams (segmented by Product, Engineering, and Marketing, etc) each with different workflows, and that means I lack a continuous backlog to know "whats next" - I end up having to check each Team to do some mental prioritization to know whats next.

The features are relevant and easily configureable; there aren't a ton of fluff fields and features that end up going unused. I can easily filter and create story boards for every need. The roadmap tool is extremely valuable for communicating progress and dependencies to the rest of my organization.

Nachteile

I wish there was an easier way to track down stories that don't belong to an epic. I can't lose track of the work that needs to be done so I find it imperative to have an epic assigned to all stories.

Shortcut is amazing for non-profits who need a flexible and no- to low-cost task/project management platform.

Nachteile

Unless you work in Agile methodology day in and day out, it can be difficult to understand how to effectively organize tasks/stories into epics and projects.

The features are great and help me organize my work. I like the Github feature that allows linking PRs to tickets and move them along the workflow at different states.

The organization of concepts is a little confusing. Like when things should be an Epic vs a Milestone etc.

We use Clubhouse to manage priorities in our design team and it is really easy to use in this respect. It's easy to create stories, boards and tasks and to steer our team to be more productive.

Nachteile

I'd love to be able to format text without the need for markdown. That would be great!

The UI is fast and responsive and modern. Love dark mode. Test it on veritcal monitors though....

Vertical monitor use is a pain. Dependency tracking is essentially non-existent because there is no point in creating dependencies for a story if I can't then sort them in dependencies order. GH integrations aren't very good.

Clubhouse makes it easy to view and organize work across projects. I like the ability to label things by Epic and create custom workspaces is super helpful. The Clubhouse API is useful for getting information about activity and creating our custom metric reporting.

Nachteile

The reporting isn't very useful. I feel it is geared toward project management reporting and we don't use project management. I would like to be able to see quality related reports (how many bugs were created/resolved, projects with the most reported bugs, number of bugs created by epic/project. It would also be nice to have the ability to set a Release Date and Production/Testing field on cards so that we can track when features/projects go to production and whether bugs were released as well, or caught during testing.

Vorteile

This is a cut above many other simpler apps, without being daunting. The analytics are good enough for most software teams. It integrates with a ton of other apps very easily.

Nachteile

We are outgrowing Clubhouse right now, I don't think it can keep up with the quantity of teams we have. It's also so flexible that we set it up in a way that has caused us a bunch of issues after a couple years of use. Now untangling those issues is a lot of work.

Vorteile

The fact that I can stay on the same page with my colleagues on projects that have lots of cooks in the kitchen is a game changer. I love that we all work out of one project management tool.

Nachteile

It can be difficult to remember the naming conventions for each piece of the software within Shortcut, so there is a bit of a learning curve.

It has the most of the functionalities compared to Jira.

For example, slack integration is not as good as Jira.

Being able to track projects and tasks on a daily is amazing, and the ease of use is also incredible. Highly recommend using this product for your SAAS devs, team, etc.

I have yet to run into something that has really bothered me, or has not worked. So currently no cons.

It's easy to use and organize, and there are a lot of customizable features that the previous software I used did not have.

I wish you could add blockers that aren't other stories, i.e. if I am blocked on something because I need to go confirm something with a Stakeholder, that's not easily indicated within Shortcut. We end up using a Workflow State for "Blocked" stories instead of using the Relationships feature.

Vorteile

The design really helps with using the app fast and with ease. It's feature packed, but the design helps with finding the feature you need fast and efficiently. It's also very smooth and fast, which makes it a pleasure to use. Boards are updated live, meaning changes colleagues make are instantly visible to everyone. We work remote so this is really helpful. Integration with other tools and the API is also very nice and the mobile app is pretty great too, which is quite the accomplishment for such a complex app. I can do anything on the road that I can do on desktop.

Nachteile

Reporting could be expanded. Also some better automated integration with git would be nice, f.i. creating a new branch for each story automatically (that's how we work anyway).

I like how there are many different ways to interact with the software - gives a lot of flexibility in how you want to use it.

Nachteile

For the core functionality of Scrum/task management, it doesn't feel much different than other, more simple/generic solutions (even like putting some stuff on a Trello board, or GitHub issue tracking)

Flexibility of epics, iterations, projects and filters to get a view on the work being done that suits you.

Search and filtering features could be more user friendly, finding old tickets can be difficult.

I like the fact that clubhouse gives me the ability to see what is being worked on a by who. I work remotely and find that sometimes my co-workers (who are in different timezones) are offline and I cannot reach them immediately. Clubhouse has a great communication system built into a worlds best ticket system.

Nachteile

I don't have any cons really. The one thing I would like to see from clubhouse is possible more filtering options and a better way to report on bugs that we have.

Vorteile

I love it's exclusivity! Having to be invited by a member makes it just that much more desirable to get on. It's fun being able to directly interact with celebrities, movers and shakers, and influencers. The rooms are set up according to interest which is great as well.

Nachteile

The thing I least like about it is the fact that it's invite only. It's kind of a love hate with that aspect. So many of my friends want to join and I know they would find the content useful but cant join due to limited inviting options.

I've been using Jira for over 10 years and this is my 1st job that uses ShortCut. I am surprised that it is as good as Jira and I can do everything that I want there. Learning and using the product have been easy too.

Priority feature. Right now we assign tags to tag our priorities.

I received a Beta Test invite in the summer of 2020 and instantly loved the platform. Users are genuine and share valuable audio content. Clubhouse is like having access to TedX quality speakers 24-7

The platform takes a time to figure out and learn how to navigate.

I liked the ability to include various subtasks that you could assign to different individuals and teams within one project with a singular goal. This was great for cross-functional projects such as feature launches.

I thought the design could use some work. For example, Click-Up has a much more modern feel and is more aesthetically appealing.

Vorteile

Shortcut is integral to my team keeping track of the projects and tasks. I have it set up such that we can move tickets from different stages, including 'Eventually', 'Prioritized', 'In Development', 'Review', and 'Done'. At a glance, I am able to tell what stage everything is at. Additionally, tickets can be assigned to different people, and the filters make it easy to see what each people is assigned. It's helpful to be able to document conversations within the ticket, and I also appreciate being able to connect Shortcut to GitHub. Shortcut can also be used in Dark mode.

Nachteile

It would be nice to be able to put people down as 'requesters' even if they are not users of Shortcut. It would help keep track of who is the actual requester, if I was to create a ticket on behalf of someone.

Vorteile

Very easy to use and integrate across the whole organization. Create cross functional teams working on various projects across the organization.

Nachteile

No Integrated calendar view. No method to migrate stories from one workspace to a new workspace when dividing teams or organizations.
