Amazing buying behavior, or research behavior. Understanding the customer's full buying journey.
Vorteile
Extremely helpful for analyzing customer or potential buyer behavior on your website. Helps you understand how to structure the website differently, or hotspots on your website, so you can make changes accordingly.
Nachteile
Seemed to slow down the website considerably. Needs to be lighter. I ended up uninstalling it from the website because it slowed it down so much.

Overall we have had a great experience with Hotjar!
Vorteile
As a marketing agency Hotjar has made seeing and understanding our insights and interactions super easy. We have tried many platforms in the past but Hotjar is so far the easiest one to use.
Nachteile
There are some things/toold that it lacks and would be great it they implemented them. Specifically we would love if they could add a way to filter by clicked element which right now is not available without some kind of coding.

Great but slows down site speed
Overall Hotjar does what it needs to do. It's a bit expensive and slows down site speed so my suggestion would be to only use it periodically.
Vorteile
Hotjar is great because it was easy to implement and the interface is super simple to understand. This app has given us a lot of insight into customer activity.
Nachteile
Hotjar will slow down your site speed. As soon as we remove the code we see a lift inn our speed scores. So it's not something you want to keep on your site for a long period of time.

I have been using Hotjar for the past few months to understand what is most interesting to visitors of our sites. The system has a fast and easy-to-use interface.
Nachteile
Before starting to fully use Hotjar, I had to spend a considerable amount of time studying it. Heat maps do not function with dynamic data.

Great insights!
Hotjar has informed several design decisions that have led to improved site metrics (time on site, page views, etc.) and increased conversion rates.
Vorteile
Love the heat maps by device type, though my favorite feature is the user session recording. Being able to see exactly how someone has interacted with your website is invaluable to the UX design process.
Nachteile
Nothing really. Ran into a few glitches during setup, but their tech support made it easy to take care of.

We use hotjar to understand how customers interact with our website. They have been great.
Vorteile
HotJar's on-site video recording is by far their best feature for us. We have used it various times to help make decisions on our UI. We watch the videos they create of our customers and see how people engage with our site - what's working and what isn't.
Nachteile
I don't like the fact that I have to split up recordings into 100 videos "snapshots". I'd rather just have the option to do the maximum amount and not have to turn it on after every 100.

Absolutely useful for product iteration and marketing
Vorteile
Easy to use, easy to understand, massive help when it comes to iterating your website's interface. We rely on Hotjar's features to tell us what to focus on and what not to focus on when it comes to improving our materials.
Nachteile
I haven't encountered any major issues or roadblocks that made my experience with Hotjar unpleasant. No distinct cons, as far as our marketing team is concerned.

Great tool, but a lot of management
I use it for marketing insights and for making improvements on my marketing websites. It's a useful tool.
Vorteile
This is a fantastic way to understand how users are engaging with your site. I am a big fan of Hotjar and the approach to marketing insights.
Nachteile
It's difficult to filter for certain actions. They don't make it obvious how you could filter videos based on certain interactions with the site, like clicks.

This analytics tool is user-friendly and needs minimal training to master. So I have no peeves.

Very focused team behind this CRO
Vorteile
They deliver on their promise of the basics of their product and their support is quite responsive and actually investigates if you experience an issue with the product.
Nachteile
Not many, it is a bit heavy on the pricing if you aren't really using it often. Moreover, as all scriptbased services it in most cases slows down the load speed of your website a bit.

Initially the flexibility of the offering was lacking. DIdn't support SPA. They have been adding features but still needs effort to implement with more complicated sites.

Takes away the pain of guessing
Vorteile
Gives me easy access into the customer data I need at a moments notice. I can also catch behavior changes easier too.
Nachteile
It continues to improve and the audience of users is growing too so some of the features it's missing I assume will be coming sooner rather than later.

Hotjar is a great tool for researching user behavior on websites.
It is definitely invaluable in the ux development process of any good website.
Vorteile
We use Hotjar to analyze user behavior on the website of our online store.
With the help of Hotjar, we understood why some of our customers abandon their carts.
The biggest advantage of Hotjar is the ability to research user behavior on our website and thus increase revenues
Nachteile
With larger numbers of user sessions, Hotjar becomes quite expensive.
I did not notice any other disadvantages considering that we rarely use Hotjar

This is a good software to identify patterns in our application
Our design team is now capable of understanding everything that our customers are doing and improve their usability.
Vorteile
With Hotjar we can easily record a session on someone session and identify patterns in all the application that some users are doing and could be improved.
Nachteile
We had some issues trying to do the integration with our existing system and it was hard to load the CSS on hotjar save issue.

Good for easy analytics
Easy to setup and we now have a deeper understanding of what people do on our website.
Vorteile
The recordings and heatmaps feature is very good and we use these features often. We get on very well with the free plan and the interface is fast and modern. When you click an option it happens instantly unlike some other options.

They have recording for visitors even you are on basic version. This allows you to know what your visitors are doing.
Nachteile
There is no customized for the feedback widget on your website. It makes our users a bit confused with what "hotjar" is when they would like to submit their feedback on the website.

Really helpful for analyzing web traffic
We were able to make some good design decisions about where to place the forms on our landing pages thanks to Hotjar.

The heat map. It really helped my team build better landing pages! Especially for mobile.
